Austria’s newest Minister of Foreign Affairs Sebastian Kurz, who at the age of 27 became Europe’s youngest foreign minister this week, is in Croatia for his first official trip in his new role…
Kurz, who has been politically active since he was just 10-years old, has met with his Croatian counterpart Vesna Pusić during his 3-day visit. Kurz will also meet with Croatian parliament President Josip Leko.
“I am travelling to Croatia because it is the youngest member of the EU, it is a nation which has strong economic connections with Austria,” said Kurz.
Kurz, who was born in Vienna and raised in Meidling, was appointed to the newly created post of State Secretary for Integration (part of the Ministry for Internal Affairs) in 2011. At Austria’s general election in 2013 he was elected member of parliament and on 17 December 2013 he became Austria’s and the EU’s youngest ever Foreign Minister.
