Zadar Airport to undergo €70 million upgrade

7 March 2019 – After reconstructions to airports in Dubrovnik and Split, Zadar Airport will be the latest in Croatia to undergo an upgrade.
On Thursday, the Croatian Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure Oleg Butković and Defence Minister Damir Krstičević signed a Tripartite Agreement for the construction and reconstruction of operational Surfaces and airfields at Zadar Airport worth a total of about HRK 500 million, Hina reported.
“The importance of this airport is very big, it is a strategic project since the port already has about 700,000 passengers. This year we celebrate 50 years of its existence,” said Butković, pointing out that the agreement is indispensable for further development of the Zadar Airport.
The project is worth around HRK 500 million, which includes reconstruction of the existing uphill-downhill track, extension of the 700m track and reconstruction and upgrading of the passenger terminal building, said Butković.
“This is a big step for Zadar and the Zadar County and the overall economy, and I am pleased that the Croatian Army as a partner participates in this project,” said Minister Krstičević.
