Zadar named one host city of Women’s European Volleyball Championship

ZAGREB, 20 February (Hina) – Zadar on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast has been named as one of the host cities for a major European volleyball event.
Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania have been confirmed as hosts of the Women’s EuropeanVolleyball Championship, to be held from 18 August to 4 September this year, with the 24 best European teams participating, the European Volleyball Confederation has confirmed.
The host cities of the 2021 championship are Zadar, Belgrade, Plovdiv and Cluj-Napoca.
Zadar has never before hosted a volleyball tournament of such a high profile, although Croatia hosted the 2005 EuroVolley in Zagreb and Pula, and back in 1975 Rijeka was among those who hosted the Women’s European Championship.
Zadar will also host qualifications for EuroVolley in May, as well as the women’s FIVB Challenger Cup.
The 2019 European Volleyball Championship was hosted by Turkey, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia.
