Zagreb Airport launches Play Your Airport challenge

ZAGREB, April 25, 2024 – Zagreb Airport (ZAG) and Groupe ADP are launching the Play Your Airport challenge, a competition for innovative solutions, with the aim of improving airport services and the experience of traveling. 

This unique challenge, presented in Croatia for the first time, offers to the start-ups, small medium companies and the academic community the opportunity to implement their ideas, provide advanced technological solutions at the airport, and win valuable prizes.

Inspired by the success in Paris, at Groupe ADP and last year in Madagascar, at Antananarivo airport, the fifth edition of the Play Your Airport challenge will be held in Zagreb from April 25 until July 26, 2024. More info on the link http://www.pyazagreb.zag.aero/

“Through this project, we want to find candidates who will design and improve the passenger experience at our airport innovatively, through the common denominator: Airport of the future. The competition itself will be open from April 25 until July 26, 2024 and during its entire duration, on the ZAG corporate website, candidates will be able to review the conditions, get additional information and register their project,” explained the officials of the Zagreb Airport.

The innovativeness of the projects will be evaluated through three key categories: green airport, automation of services and passenger experience. Projects will be evaluated by a special expert jury, according to defined criteria, and the three best solutions will be awarded valuable prizes, more info on web page http://www.pyazagreb.zag.aero/

Project proposals will be evaluated by an expert jury composed of members of the management boards of ZAG and Groupe ADP, representatives of owners, the academic community, and the media partner. The following criteria will be evaluated: the relevance of the proposed solution for Zagreb Airport, the innovativeness of the project, the quality of the project description, feasibility, and the team’s composition and presentation.

ZAG emphasizes that the “Play Your Airport” project represents an extraordinary opportunity for innovators from various fields to offer solutions for improving airport services and a new travel experience through creative and sustainable solutions, therefore all interested parties are invited to apply for this interesting innovative competition.
