Little Picnic, Zagreb’s favourite picnic-story in the Upper Town, is starting soon.
In cooperation with the Zagreb Tourist Board, Little Picnic will once again turn one of the city’s most beautiful locations into a place of happy encounters and local delicacies.
Blankets with a view of the city await visitors under the canopies of the Gornji Grad Bela IV park on July 22, after which Little Picnic will continue to tell its unique summer picnic story every following Friday, until August 12.
The gastronomic offer is, as always, in the worthy hands of a few small producers from Mali plac, the famous mobile market of local products.
To quench their thirst, visitors will be able to choose between gin and tonics that will be mixed by PK gin tonic Croatia with local gin from the Luftbremzer Gin Distillery, Iskrena vina Matković, craft beer from one of the best small breweries on the local craft scene, PriMarius, a refreshing fermented tea made according to a traditional recipe by the Kombucha Team and cold-pressed organic fruit juices from the OPG Korade garden.
Further exploration of the small local producers summer flavours by Little Picnic includes delicatessen goat and cow cheeses, potato pies, pumpkin strudels, vegetable fritters, homemade sourdough pastries and focaccia, gluten-free breads, buckwheat crackers, hummus and tahini spread, apple and berry strudel, shortbread cakes with apples, handmade vegan shortbread rolls with jam, traditional babka with chocolate or figs and honey cookies.
Little Picnic’s menu is exclusively vegetarian, with many vegan and gluten-free options. All food is from local and sustainable sources, and the event is plastic-free.
Entry is free, and all you need to bring with you is a good mood.
The event is organised by Mali plac and supported by the Zagreb Tourist Board.
