The Croatian capital is introducing a pilot service for free public transportation in the city centre’s pedestrian zone.
Starting June 15th, small electric vehicles named “Fulir” will offer an eco-friendly way to get around for residents and tourists, enhancing accessibility and sustainability.
“Fulir is more than just a transportation service. It is a step towards a more sustainable, accessible, and welcoming Zagreb that will make everyday life easier and improve the quality of life in the city center,” said Mayor Tomislav Tomašević.
He explained that the service is primarily intended for the elderly, people with mobility issues, and individuals with disabilities, but it will also be available to other residents and tourists.
The small electric cars, which have a capacity of 5 passengers plus the driver, will be available from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, on weekends and holidays, until the end of October.
The service is free and can be requested by calling 091/1111-425 or 091/1111-426. Drivers will personally answer calls and arrange pick-up locations and routes.
The name “Fulir” was chosen in honour of the unforgettable character from the most iconic Zagreb film “One Song a Day Takes Mischief Away,” and the concept is inspired by the successful “Kavalir” model in Ljubljana.
The transportation service will be provided by Zagrebački električni tramvaj d.o.o.
